Five things to know about me

I’ve been trying to think of how I would summarize myself if I had five points to make, and they had to be about who I am and help in understanding me.

  1. While I really enjoy spending time out with friends I also love quiet time at home with a book or movie and the company of someone I care about.
  2. I prefer a few, deep, meaningful conversations as opposed to “working the room”, and am therefore more likely to be on the outskirts of a party.
  3. I identify and solve problems thoughtfully rather than emotionally, and appreciate it when someone can connect with me in the same way.
  4. I tend to be very passionate about the ideas, hobbies, and people that interest me. When I consider someone a close friend there is little that I won’t do for them.
  5. I love to read, exposing myself to new ideas and stories, and love to create my own ideas and stories in return.

Then I asked a good friend what she would say.

  1. I’ve never believed in conforming to what everyone else was doing or thinking. I would rather make my own way and decide what I think is important for myself. Uniqueness is to be valued and celebrated.
  2. I can seem like I’m in my own world, but it’s only because I care deeply about things that matter the most to me and choose to focus my attention exclusively on them.
  3. One of the ways that I choose to express my personality and sense of self is by wearing kilts quite often.
  4. I have an expansive array of interests that I enjoy taking to new depths and in new directions.
  5. I love information of all types, not only for what it is and what it means, but also for its own sake.

Now to figure out how to reconcile these two lists…

How does this look?
